CEEC-China (16+1) countries ministers met in Belgrade, Serbia
The main focus of the meeting was devoted to exploring and seeking means and ways of achieving coordination in planning, evaluating and implementing of transport infrastructure projects to ensure Eurasian connectivity. The participants of the meeting evaluated the format to be a fruitful platform for discussing the topics of mutual interests. Moreover, the format of this summit encouraged participants to have bilateral meetings as well as joint sessions, which strengthens transport cooperation between China and Central and East European Countries (CEEC) within the 16+1 mechanism.
The meeting was hosted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure prof. Zorana Mihajlovic. The People’s Republic of China was represented by Minister of Transport of Li Xiaopeng.
The Transport ministers meeting was held in parallel with the 3rd China-CEEC Capital Mayor’ s Forum. Both events were opened in a joint opening ceremony by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic. At the opening ceremony there also participated the Mayor of Belgrade Zoran Radojicic and Vice Mayor of Beijing Wang Hong, as well as the distinguished ministers in charge for transport sector from Serbia and China – prof. Zorana Mihajlovic and Mr. Li Xiaopeng.
