CEEC-China 1st Transport Minister`s Meeting & Business Conference Riga, Latvia 2016

The 1st Central and Eastern European Countries and China Transport Ministers' Meeting (CEEC-CHINA TMM1) and the Business Conference took place in Riga, Latvia, on May 16-17, 2016. Ministers of Transport and Heads of Delegation of Latvia, China, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Poland attended the meeting.

Suzhou Summit 2015

The 4th Summit of the Prime ministers` of China and countries of Central and Eastern Europe was held in Suzhou on November 26, 2015. The heads of state underlined the cooperation development in the field of transport and logistics between China and Central and Eastern European Countries and the necessity to sustain the dialogue among all 16+1 format members. As an outcome of the summit the Prime ministers` signed The Suzhou Guidelines for Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries.

Belgrade Summit 2014

The 3rd Summit of the Prime ministers` of China and countries of Central and Eastern Europe was held in Belgrade on December 16, 2014. The Chinese premier Li Keqiang put forward proposal to construct a new corridor on connectivity. He highlighted that the CEEC posses natural and good harbors, which can exert huge transport effect if linked with traffic arteries including railways and highways. The Prime ministers` of China, Serbia, Hungary and Macedonia agreed to build a land-sea express passage linking a Greek port of Piraeus and the landlocked Hungary to speed up transportation between China and Europe. The Chinese premier Li Keqiang and his Serbian and Hungarian counterparts signed a memorandum of understanding on joint construction of the Hungary-Serbia railway.

Bucharest Summit 2013

The 2nd Summit of the Prime ministers` of China and countries of Central and Eastern Europe took place in Bucharest on November 26, 2013. The participants agreed to provide more support to small and medium-sized enterprises and offer larger room to play an “active role” in bilateral trade. The Chinese premier Li Keqiang pointed out the need to double trade volumes. Other proposals included enhancing cooperation on transportation infrastructure, new energy and finance, as well as expanding local government exchanges. It was decided inter alia to discuss the possibility of building an international railway transportation corridor connecting China with CEECs and encourage business to establish bonded areas and distribution centers along the railway routes to build a new logistics passage between China and Europe.
